Tomorrow is the big day. 400 people will converge upon Elmsford, NY for the first official Sour'd in September held at Captain Lawrence Brewery. We are super excited to spend 3 glorious hours tomorrow afternoon sipping on some deliciously sour, tart, and funky brews amongst like-minded folk.
20 breweries will be on-site tomorrow pouring some 50+ sours beers. It looks like an all star lineup so far. We are most excited to try the following:
Captain Lawrence Brewing Company: Stoked to try pretty much anything they have going on tomorrow. Rumor has it that there will be some brand new beers brewed and blended specifically for the event. The internets revealed one potential ingredient in the beer as plums. Plums = Yums.
Peekskill Brewery: Simple Sour. One of our favorites here at Beer Noggin. This Brett fermented Berliner Weisse has been satisfying our thirst for the past few years now. Can't wait to have some more tomorrow.
Newburgh Brewing: Checkpoint Charlie Berliner Weisse. We could drink this one all day. And we totally would tomorrow if there weren't so many other beers to try.
Troegs Brewing Company: Nebulous. A barrel-aged version of their Belgian Tripel La Grave conditioned with some Brettanomyces. Thumbs up.
Thirsty Dog Brewing: Cerasus. Really looking forward to revisiting this beer. We need more Flanders Red in our lives.
Plan Bee Brewery: We don't know much about this brewery so we are excited to get our first taste of what they have to offer. According to their Facebook, they will also have some bottles for sale. Hoping to snag one or two before it's all gone!
We are looking forward to drinking great beer with even better company. A huge thanks to Captain Lawrence for putting this together. See you tomorrow folks!!!
