He Said Baltic-Style Porter with Pumpkin and Spices - 21st Amendment San Francisco, CA
A jet black pumpkin porter with lager yeast? Sure, why not? At Beer Noggin, this is how we imagine the conversation went down between Dick Cantwell from Elysian Brewing and Shaun O'Sullivan from 21st Amendment. The result of which is part of a truly unique 4 pack: 2 cans of this delicious and confounding Baltic-style Porter and 2 cans of a scrumptious Belgian Triple both with added pumpkin and spices. Too bad the Triples didn't last long in my fridge. Make no mistake, this Porter is no second fiddle. It's dense in weight, light on pumpkin, rich in spice and roast, and dry as a bone. Whatever it was that "He Said" he definitely said it right with this variant. This time of year, in a sea of both under- and over-spiced pumpkin beers, the brewers of Elysian and 21st Amendment created this wonderfully restrained specimen, and said it was good.
